Sustainable Construction

Sustainable Construction

Long before LEED, Title 24 or Cal Green building codes Hopkins was committed to recycling, energy efficiency and sustainable construction. Many of Hopkins projects are LEED certified at some level. A major component of LEED certification is a buying local program; thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions due to travel. While every project is different, estimates suggest that on a typical construction project 60% of materials are domestic and 40% foreign. While there may be a small up-charge for all domestic materials perhaps it is the right thing to do. You will reduce greenhouse gasses and create jobs right here in the United States on your project.  We can all help.
